18 months!!!! and.....

Ha! When I started this post it was entitled "Approaching 18 months", it should now be called "18 months, going going GONE"! I am so terrible at this blogging/journaling thing.

We will call this Laila's top 3's for the 18 months ish age...so much as changed honestly in the last 2 months. Its crazy how fast these little human beings grow and develop!

Top 3 Cutest Things She Does
1. Not cute but kinda cute. Laila was becoming quite a hitter. Which I feel like we are maybe rounding that corner a bit, we've been working hard on it (knock on wood). But for a while there she would smack you across the face and then give you her best hug ever, completely melting into your arms. And then pull away and pucker her lips waiting for her kiss. The little minion! :) But she sure was learning how to score points after doing something knotty. It was hard not to smile at times to let her know it is still not okay to hit. But it was pretty cute!
2.When Laila does something bad and we say "No" she will often go pout and through her own little pittty party.
3. Kisses.

Top 3 Least Cutest Things She Does
1. She is a terrible listener. When you ask her to come, the first thing she does is turns and runs, and as fast as she can! Its driving me a little crazy. We've gotten in serious trouble, and I mean her, not me, a couple of times when we've turned and bolted into the street. Those were a hard lesson to learn. First time she ever got a swift hit on the bum. She looked at me in total betrayal, but I needed her to know that that is such a BIG NO! Needless to say we were both in tears, ha! But she actually hasn't bolted into the street since (knock on wood, again).
2. When she throws a fit, her body goes limp, total noodle-like. Its a killer on the back.
3. She's picked up head-ramming....hmmm..not fun.

Top 3 Funniest Things She Does
1. She's a pretty funny little dancer, just sayin'. Her new move, bend over with your butt in the hair and head on the ground pose! Not sure where she got that one... Cameron maybe?!? ;-)
2. She's a great photo taker - pull out a phone or camera and she gives you a big cheesy  "Chhheeesssseeee!".
3. She'll stay up for hours after we "put" her to bed sometimes and plays. Like she is in her own pretend world. Giggling, bouncing, talking and playing games...for hours.

Top 3 Favorite Things
1. She loves to count. "1, 2, 3, GO!"
2. Her friend Ava. We are going to be so sad when they leave. At the beginning of the summer one of Laila's little buddies moved. We miss them so much. Laila and another little girl, Ava have totally bonded since. They go to kids gym at the Y together and seriously, their reunion each time is like two crazy college girls who haven't seen each other all day! ;-) Its quite entertaining and PURE bliss.
3. She loves dogs. She has no problem, both good and bad, walking right up to them. She'll be the first to spot them followed by a consistent little barking/woofing noise until the dog is out of sight. She is also a pretty good airplane spotter. She reaches to the sky and yells, "Choa" (something we've taught her to say for "bye" ) and waves! They often get kisses too.

Top 3 Dislikes
1.Vegetables
2. Getting her hair done. She finally has enough to put in a pony tail, kind of....but she hates it.
3. Food taken away before she is finished with it. Sometimes we have to rush in the morning and she is not a happy camper if I take that cereal and milk away before she is finished with it.

Top 3 Accomplishments
1. We have more than doubled our teeth since her 1st birthday. 12 and still going :)
2. She is still such a jabber mouth. She will talk and talk and talk. Most of which we are still not understanding, although I am pretty sure she things we are, until she realizes we are not, and then gets frustrated. She wants to communicate so bad. More and more is making sense, however. And at least, if we can not communicate with the humans, she has the animal sounds down.

3,And....

BIG NEWS! Laila is going to be a big sister! And we are terrified and thrilled! :)
